Earth Friendly Party Tips

Earth friendly parties at Imagine may be very basic or elaborate but take into consideration the impact on the environment and the amount of waste produced. At Imagine the concept of a large space shared with the community for the purpose of gathering is at it's most basic an earth friendly concept. Earth friendly is also generally budget friendly! You can further reduce your parties environmental impact by considering the options below.
Reduce & Reuse - Avoid excess: many parties have a lot of excess food, decorations, and favors. Keep in mind that the gathering of friends, and family and social aspect of having fun together will be most memorable. Reusable options also significantly reduce the waste produced from parties.
- Sharing photos or action shots is a great way to commemorate the occasion.
- The party rooms already have art on the walls, so a touch of something festive helps set the mood. We have birthday banners if you would like to borrow one of ours, or you could get a family banner to reuse each birthday.
- Consider paper lanterns, or a table display instead of balloons. Broken balloons are one of the worst choking hazards and harmful to marine life as well. Helium is becoming more difficult to get and the tanks must be disposed.
- Imagine offers royal blue tablecloths with a plastic cover for the buffet tables which can be wiped down at the end of the party eliminating the need for single use plastic table covers. The children's tables are wooden and can easily be wiped after the party also eliminating the need for single use tablecloths.
- A craft that children make or decorate can double as entertainment and a treasured party favor.
- Please do not use styrofoam cups or plates as styrofoam is not generally recycled and does not decay.
- Finger foods eliminate the need for plastic utensils, or use our assortment of metal utensils.
- Have extra food that you prefer not to take home? Let us know, we usually can find folks happy to eat it!
Recycle - We are avid recyclers and generally process everything correctly so that it can be repurposed. Your assistance is truly appreciated!
