Amy Waltz: Founder

Creating a space for children and their families/caregivers to come, play and learn together has been a long held dream for Amy.  She is thrilled that with the help of numerous committed individuals and the community, this dream is becoming a reality!  She hopes that Imagine will offer a family friendly space where people of every age and background enjoy gathering. 

Amy has been working with children most of her life, including professional work for more than 37 years.  Her studies in early education and science inspired her to open Waltzing Bear: Early Arts & Science Education in 1988 to offer an intimate family child care setting serving the community for 25 years.

​She has a passion for: working with children; procuring art; offering training, networking and sharing resources with educators and families; participating in all forms of art (dance, puppetry, visual arts, music, singing, storytelling etc.) and making learning a hands-on, fun time.  Her enjoyment of the natural world has lead to a desire to support sustainable living choices. 

Amy is delighted to have Imagine evolve amidst such a wonderful community in Cambridge and the Greater Boston area!
